STEP 1: Sand the stain using 120 grit sandpaper.

STEP 2: Gently apply the table oil to the affected area.

    
Make sure you are dabbing the oil, so it can soak into the wood.  
Ensure to wipe off the excess, otherwise the area will be darker.
